"JESUS BLEIBET MEINE FREUDE" - "JESUS, JOY OF MAN'S DESIRING" (Chorale of Cantata BWV 147 by J.S. Bach)
New transcription for two pianos by David Bruehwiler (full original harmonic set)
The initial idea for this transcription was to arrange an easy Primo piano for students on early intermediate level and a more demanding Secondo for the teacher which deals with the cello and viola parts. The task was also not to write a mere arrangement of the piece but a true transcription containing the full original harmonic and polyphonic set.
The Primo can be played without sustain pedal, the Secondo needs pedaling for proper execution.
By learning to play this transcription with the help of his/her piano teacher, the student can make acquaintance with one of the most beautiful works of Bach earlier than normally.
The Federal Law of 1 July 1993 on Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights (the Copyright Law) is the legal basis of reference for SUISA. The Copyright Law regulates the protection of authors, artists, record and video producers and broadcasting companies, and defines the obligations of the collective administration societies. It defines key terms such as «work» or «author», and enumerates the rights of an author in his works. The Law also places limits on copyright protection.
Pursuant to the Copyright Law, the author is the owner of his work. An author’s work can only be published, reproduced, performed in public, broadcast or otherwise disseminated with his or her consent. In exchange, the author is entitled to remuneration.
